Devil's Millhopper Geological State Park

Florida State Park · Gainesville, Florida

A sinkhole 120 feet deep and 500 feet across, with twelve small waterfalls dropping down its walls into a miniature rainforest at the bottom. A 232-step boardwalk descends the whole way, and the temperature falls noticeably with every flight — the base holds plants that belong hundreds of miles further north. A National Natural Landmark, and curious visitors have been coming since the 1880s.

4732 Millhopper Road, Gainesville, Florida, 32653, United States

Open 9:00 a.m. until sundown on operating days. NOT OPEN DAILY — historically Wednesday through Sunday. Check before making a special trip.
