Diamond Peak Ski Resort
Small Community Owned Ski Area Above Incline Village With Views Over Lake Tahoe · Incline Village, Nevada
Diamond Peak is a small ski area above Incline Village on the north-east shore of Lake Tahoe, owned and run by the local community through the Incline Village General Improvement District rather than a big resort company. It is modest in size, with a handful of chairlifts, a compact base area and a mix of wide beginner and intermediate runs with some steeper pitches and glades, and it is best known for the view: from the top of the upper chair and the ridge runs you ski straight toward Lake Tahoe, with the blue water filling the horizon below. A mid-mountain lodge adds food with a view. The base sits lower than many Tahoe ski areas, so snow can be thinner in dry winters, and the resort leans on snowmaking to keep key runs open. Ticket prices are usually lower than at the big California resorts, and residents of Incline Village and Crystal Bay get discounts through their community passes. It is a family and local mountain rather than a destination resort, with lodging, food and groceries in Incline Village a few minutes away.

NO OPENING TIME HERE WAS CHECKED. The typical pattern: in the ski season lifts usually run roughly 9 am to 4 pm daily, with ticket windows and rentals opening earlier, and the season runs from about mid-December to mid-April depending on snow. There is little or no ski-area operation in summer. The traps that ruin a day are a thin, icy lower mountain in dry winters, full base parking on holidays, the mid-mountain lodge closed in bad weather, chain controls on the drive from Reno, and walking up to buy a ticket at the window at peak price. Confirm current times before relying on them.
