Disneyland Paris

Disney Resort East Of Paris Opened In 1992, With Disneyland Park And A Second Park (Walt Disney Studios, Being Expanded And Renamed Confirm), Europe'S Most Visited Theme Park Resort · Chessy, Ile-de-France

Disneyland Paris is a Disney resort about 32 kilometres east of central Paris, at Marne-la-Vallée, that opened in 1992 as Euro Disney. It is the most visited theme park resort in Europe. There are two parks side by side: Disneyland Park, built around Sleeping Beauty Castle with its five lands, and the second park, opened in 2002 as Walt Disney Studios and in the middle of a large expansion with a Frozen-themed area and a new name, so confirm what is open and what it is called when you go. Between the parks and the hotels sits Disney Village, a free-entry street of restaurants, shops and a cinema. The RER A suburban train and TGV high-speed trains stop at Marne-la-Vallée - Chessy station, right at the park gates. Tickets are dated and priced by demand, so the same day costs very different amounts in term time and in the holidays. Queues are long on weekends and in French school holidays, and a paid skip-the-line product, Premier Access, sells out on busy days. The weather is northern European: bring a rain layer at any season.

Both parks open every day of the year, but opening and closing times change through the year and even week to week: longer days in summer and at Christmas, shorter ones in the low season, and the second park usually closes earlier than Disneyland Park. Guests of the Disney hotels, and some ticket types, get Extra Magic Time, an early entry window before the public opening, when a handful of rides run with short queues; confirm which rides and which ticket types qualify. Individual rides close for refurbishment on a rolling basis, often for weeks at a time in the low season, and the resort publishes a refurbishment calendar, so check it before promising a child a particular ride. The castle nighttime show runs near closing on most nights but can be cancelled for wind or rain. Disney Village stays open later than the parks. Tickets are dated and must be bought for a specific day; on busy dates they can sell out, and the cheapest price tiers go first. Premier Access is sold on the day in the app, ride by ride, and on the busiest days it sells out by late morning. Restaurants with table service fill up and are best booked in advance through the app or by phone.
