Dow Gardens
Botanical Garden · Midland, Michigan
The Midland garden Herbert H. Dow began around his own house in 1899, while building the chemical company that carries his name, and which has been open to the public ever since. Its modern draw is next door at Whiting Forest, where a canopy walk runs 1,400 feet through the treetops — the longest in the United States.
