Dr Pepper Museum

Specialty Museum · Waco, Texas

The 1906 Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company building in downtown Waco, where Dr Pepper was bottled and from where it was sold long before Coca-Cola went national — the drink was invented at a Waco drugstore in 1885, which makes it older than Coke and, by most reckonings, the oldest major soft drink in America.

⚠ HOURS AND ADMISSION ARE NOT STATED HERE — I could not verify them. Check drpeppermuseum.com before travelling, and note that ⚠ WACO PRICING AND HOURS HAVE MOVED CONSIDERABLY in recent years, so older guides are unreliable. ⚠ The old-fashioned soda fountain may operate separately from museum admission — confirm it is running if that is why you are coming. The Free Enterprise Institute upstairs is a second museum inside the same building and is easily missed.
