Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park

Florida State Park · Dania Beach, Florida

Two and a half miles of beach and mangrove between Port Everglades and Dania Beach, renamed in 2016 for the two civil rights leaders who organised the 1961 wade-ins that desegregated Fort Lauderdale's beaches. The park exists because Black residents were barred from the public sand, and its own history is the reason to come as much as the water is.

6503 North Ocean Drive, Dania Beach, Florida, 33004, United States

Open 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year.
