Drummond Island
Island · Drummond Island, Michigan
Michigan's largest Lake Huron island, reached by a ten-minute car ferry from DeTour Village at the far eastern end of the Upper Peninsula. Its dolomite bedrock gives it two things nowhere else in the state has together: the Marblehead limestone cliff above open water, and hundreds of miles of rock and forest trail that made it one of the best-known off-road destinations in the Midwest.
