Duden Waterfalls
Two Waterfalls On The Duden River: The Upper Falls In A Green City Park With Paths Behind The Water, And The Lower Falls Plunging About 40 M From A Cliff Into The Mediterranean, Best Seen From A Boat. A Cooling Half Day In Antalya, Popular With Families · Antalya, Antalya
Duden Waterfalls are two separate falls on the Duden River at Antalya, one inland and one on the coast. The Upper Duden Falls lie in a green city park roughly 10 km north-east of the old town (confirm), where the river tumbles over a rock ledge into a pool and a path leads behind the sheet of water into a small cave. The Lower Duden Falls are on the south coast, where the river drops about 40 m from a cliff straight into the Mediterranean (confirm), a sight best seen from a boat in the bay or from the clifftop park near Karpuzkaldiran. Both are free or cheap and make a cool half day in a hot city. The upper park has shady lawns, tea gardens and a children playground, and the lower view is popular at sunset. Water flow is greatest from late winter through spring and thin in late summer when the river is partly drawn for irrigation. Rock near the water is wet and slippery all year, and the spray can soak a camera or a coat.

The Lower Falls clifftop park is open to walkers most of the day, and the sea view is free, while boat trips run from the harbour from spring to autumn, with the most departures from June to September (confirm). Paths behind the falls may close after heavy rain or when the rock is unsafe. Confirm the park hours, any entry fee and the boat schedule before planning the day.
