Dundas Peak is a cliff-top lookout in the Spencer Gorge Wilderness Area on the Niagara Escarpment, about 20 km west of Hamilton city centre near Websters Falls (confirm). From the rock shelf you see the green Spencer Creek valley, the town of Dundas far below, and the long line of the escarpment curving away. A trail of roughly 1 to 2 km leads from the car park at Websters Falls or Tews Falls through forest to the viewpoint, with stairs, roots and a few steep sections (confirm length). The lookout has become one of the best-known photograph spots in Ontario, and crowds, parking rules and entry systems at the Hamilton conservation areas change often, so plan ahead and confirm before going. The rim has few barriers, and the drop is real. It rewards careful walkers with one of the grandest views in southern Ontario. Allow two to three hours for the full visit, with time for the falls on the way.
