DuPont State Recreational Forest

Public Land · Cedar Mountain, North Carolina

Twelve and a half thousand acres between Brevard and Hendersonville, holding six major waterfalls on the Little River within a few miles of each other - Hooker, Triple, High, Bridal Veil, Grassy Creek and Wintergreen. The land came to the state because the DuPont company arranged the sale of the original tract, and part of it had been a plant making X-ray film. Hollywood found it before most hikers did: scenes from The Last of the Mohicans and The Hunger Games were shot on these falls.
