East Bay Bike Path

Historic Route · Providence, Rhode Island

Fourteen and a half miles of asphalt running from India Point Park in Providence to Independence Park in Bristol, laid on the right-of-way of the Providence, Warren and Bristol Railroad, which opened in 1855. Dedicated in May 1992, it was Rhode Island's first major shared-use path. It is flat for its whole length because it was a railway, it is free, and it runs along the shore of Narragansett Bay through East Providence, Barrington and Warren, touching half a dozen parks on the way.
