Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site

Historic House · Denison, Texas

A small white frame house beside the railroad tracks in Denison where Dwight D. Eisenhower was born in 1890, while his father worked as a railway mechanic for a few dollars a week. The family left within two years and Eisenhower himself did not know he had been born in Texas until he was well into adulthood.

609 South Lamar Avenue, Denison, Texas, 75021, United States

⚠ HOURS, TOUR TIMES AND ADMISSION ARE NOT STATED HERE — I could not verify them. Check thc.texas.gov before travelling; THC sites commonly close one or two days a week and Denison is a real drive from the Metroplex. ⚠ Access to the house may be by SCHEDULED GUIDED TOUR rather than free wandering — confirm departure times, not just opening hours. Photography inside is likely restricted.
