Emirgan Park, in Turkish Emirgan Korusu, is a terraced hillside park above the European shore of the Bosphorus at Emirgan in the Sariyer district, about 12 km north of Taksim. It rises in steps from the shore road, with winding paths, old plane and cypress trees, a series of ponds with ducks, wide lawns and three Ottoman-style wooden pavilions, the White, the Yellow and the Pink, which now serve as cafes and restaurants (confirm). The park is best known for the Istanbul tulip festival in April, when millions of bulbs flower in beds along the terraces (confirm dates), and families, photographers and school groups fill the paths. Outside tulip season it is a calm place for a picnic, a slow stroll and a long tea, with glimpses of the Bosphorus from the upper paths. The park is free to enter, is reached by bus from Besiktas or Taksim, and sits a short walk from the Sakip Sabanci Museum on the same road.

Emirgan Park is commonly open every day from early morning until late evening, often about 6 am to 10 pm or later in summer, with shorter hours in winter (confirm). The pavilion cafes and restaurants keep their own times, commonly from about 8 am to 11 pm, and tea gardens may close early in bad weather. During the April tulip festival the park stays open late and carries large crowds, especially on weekends, and the car park fills by mid-morning (confirm).
