A retreat centre on the Big Sur cliffs, founded in 1962 and effectively the birthplace of the human potential movement. Its baths are cut into a ledge fifty feet above the Pacific, fed by sulphur springs, and open to the sea on one side. For anyone not booked on a workshop there is exactly one way in: a night bath slot between one and three in the morning.
