Estivant Pines Nature Sanctuary
Michigan Nature Association Sanctuary · Copper Harbor, Michigan
One of the last stands of old-growth white pine left in Michigan, on a hillside above Copper Harbor at the very tip of the Keweenaw. Some of these trees were standing before Europeans reached the Great Lakes, and the sanctuary exists because a public campaign bought the land in 1973 to stop it being cut.
Burma Road, Copper Harbor, Michigan, 49918, United States
Open year-round in principle; the access road is not maintained in winter.
