Fall Creek Falls State Park

Tennessee State Park · Spencer, Tennessee

Tennessee's flagship park and its busiest: over 30,000 acres of Cumberland Plateau centred on the upper Cane Creek Gorge, with four major waterfalls inside it. Fall Creek Falls itself drops 256 feet, among the highest free-falling waterfalls east of the Mississippi, and can be had either from a two-minute overlook walk or by a steep scramble down to the base. Piney, Cane Creek and Rockhouse Falls are all in the same gorge, and a lodge and cabins make this a destination rather than a stop.

2009 Village Camp Road, Spencer, Tennessee, 38585, United States

Park open daily year round, free, generally 7 AM to sunset for day use, with the campground, cabins and lodge open around the clock to guests. Gorge trails close after heavy rain and in ice. Nature centre keeps seasonal hours.
