Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory
Conservatory · Fort Wayne, Indiana
A glasshouse conservatory in downtown Fort Wayne, opened in 1983, built as three linked houses — a Tropical House with a waterfall, a Desert House of Sonoran and Chihuahuan planting, and a Showcase Garden that is replanted several times a year to a theme. It is small by the standards of the great American conservatories and it is entirely indoors, which is precisely its value in a city where the zoo shuts for the winter and the weather does not cooperate for five months of the year.
1100 South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46802, United States
Open year-round, generally Tuesday to Sunday with daytime hours and reduced Sunday opening. Closed on some major holidays. The outdoor gardens are seasonal, roughly late spring to early autumn.
