Historic District · San Francisco, California
The Army post on San Francisco's northern waterfront that was the main point of embarkation for the Pacific in the Second World War — more than a million and a half troops shipped out through these piers. The warehouses are now galleries, theatres and studios, and the great lawn above them has one of the best free views in the city.
