Fort Wayne Children's Zoo

Zoo · Fort Wayne, Indiana

A zoo in Franke Park, Fort Wayne, opened in 1965 and repeatedly rated among the best children's zoos in the United States. It is arranged as a series of walk-through regional environments — an Australian Adventure with a walk-in kangaroo enclosure, an African Journey with a lion habitat and a ride-on safari, an Indonesian Rainforest and a Sea Lion habitat — rather than as a conventional cage-by-cage collection. It is seasonal, closing for the winter, which is the fact most likely to catch out a visitor.

SEASONAL — generally open late April to early October, daily, roughly 9:00 to 17:00, with limited special-event openings outside the season. Closed for the winter. Rides are individually charged on top of admission.
