Four Corners Monument

Navajo Tribal Park (Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation) · Teec Nos Pos, Arizona

The only place in the United States where four states meet — Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico — marked by a granite and bronze disc on Navajo Nation land, where visitors queue to stand or crouch across all four states for a photograph. It is run as a Navajo tribal park, with Navajo and Ute artisans selling jewellery, pottery and frybread from booths around the plaza. It is remote, windy and hot in summer, and a visit takes under an hour, but for many road-trippers crossing the Colorado Plateau it is a must-stop. Entry is $8 per person, paid by card only, and the site closes by early evening even in summer.
