Fox Theater
Theater · Oakland, California
A 1928 movie palace on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, built in a florid invented style somewhere between Indian and Middle Eastern, with two enormous seated god figures flanking the stage. It closed in 1966, stood derelict for over forty years, and reopened in 2009 after a restoration that also brought a school into the building.
