Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio
Historic House · Oak Park, Illinois
The house Frank Lloyd Wright built for himself in Oak Park in 1889 at the age of twenty-two, with a borrowed five thousand dollars, and rebuilt continuously for the next twenty years as a working laboratory. He added the studio in 1898 and designed roughly a hundred and twenty-five buildings in it, including Unity Temple and Robie House, before leaving in 1909. It is where the Prairie School was worked out.
