Fremont Street Experience
Five Block Pedestrian Mall Under The Viva Vision Canopy In Downtown Las Vegas, Opened 1995 · Las Vegas, Nevada
The Fremont Street Experience is a five-block pedestrian mall on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, between Main Street and 4th Street, covered by Viva Vision, a curved LED canopy that runs the length of the street and shows free light-and-music shows through the evening. It opened in 1995 to bring visitors back downtown after the Strip had drawn them south, and it stands on the oldest part of the city: Fremont Street was the first paved street in Las Vegas and home to its first casinos. Under the canopy stand the Golden Nugget, Binion's, the Golden Gate, the Four Queens, the Fremont, the Plaza and Circa, with the El Cortez a few blocks east in the Fremont East district of bars and the Container Park. Three free stages carry live bands most nights, the SlotZilla zipline flies overhead, and street performers work the crowds. It is louder, cheaper, rougher and more compact than the Strip, with lower table minimums and a real sense of old Las Vegas, and it is busiest and best after dark.

NO OPENING TIME HERE WAS CHECKED. The typical pattern: the street is a public pedestrian mall open 24 hours a day, every day. Canopy shows typically run on the hour from dusk into the late night, the three stages usually have bands from early evening to around midnight or later, casinos are open 24 hours, and SlotZilla usually runs from around midday to late night. The traps that ruin a visit are coming in daylight when the canopy is dark, arriving on New Year's Eve without a ticket, bringing teenagers late without checking the curfew rules, joining the SlotZilla line at 10 pm on a Saturday, and walking to a cheap garage down dark side streets. Confirm current times before relying on them.
