Frist Art Museum

National Register Of Historic Places · Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville's main art museum, housed in the city's 1934 Art Deco former main post office — a marble and aluminium interior that is worth the visit on its own — and unusual in having no permanent collection at all. It works as a kunsthalle, showing borrowed exhibitions that change several times a year, which means two visits a year apart share nothing. Admission is free for everyone eighteen and under, always, and the family art studio on the upper floor is free with it.

919 Broadway, Nashville, Tennessee, 37203, United States

Generally open most days, roughly 10 AM - 5:30 PM with a later evening opening on some days, and closed on some weekdays outside peak season — check the current opening days. Closed on major holidays. Free for visitors 18 and under, always.
