Funland
A Small Family Owned Seasonal Amusement Park On The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, Run By The Henderson Family Since 1962 · Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
Funland is the little amusement park at the south end of the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk, at Delaware Avenue, and for several generations of beach families it has been the thing the children ask for every night of the week. The Henderson family has owned and run it since 1962, and it has kept an old-fashioned shape on purpose: about 20 rides packed onto a small lot between the boardwalk and the street, 18 midway games, Skee-Ball lanes, an arcade and a redemption counter for prize tickets. Rides have historically been sold by the ticket rather than by wristband, which keeps a short visit cheap by modern standards. The best-known ride is the Haunted Mansion, a two-story dark ride that has run for more than 45 years; 2026 is its last season in its current form, and it closes afterwards for renovation, so this summer is the final chance to ride the version people remember. Other rides include a Paratrooper, a swinging Sea Dragon ship, a drop tower, bumper cars and a set of kiddie rides. It is small, crowded on summer evenings, and entirely seasonal.

SEASONAL: the 2026 season runs from Saturday 9 May to Sunday 13 September, and the park is closed the rest of the year. In May and June and again in September the park has opened on a reduced schedule, often weekends only or later starts, and closing times vary with the crowd: on a cool or thin night it may close early. From late June through August it has run daily from the afternoon into the late evening (confirm the posted times for your week). Everything is weather permitting: rides stop for rain, high wind and lightning, and a stormy evening can shut the outdoor rides while the covered games stay open. The Haunted Mansion runs its final season in its current form in 2026 and closes for renovation afterwards; do not assume it will be running when you return next year. Some rides carry height minimums and some require an adult rider with small children. Payment has historically been cash only; confirm whether cards are now accepted before you go.
