Italy'S Largest Theme Park, Opened In 1975 On The Southern Shore Of Lake Garda, With About Forty Attractions And Around Three Million Visitors A Year · Castelnuovo del Garda, Veneto

Italy's largest theme park, opened in 1975 on the southern shore of Lake Garda, and by some distance the busiest paid attraction in the country after the Colosseum: around three million people a year, almost all of them Italian, which is the thing to understand before going. This is not an international resort with an international crowd; announcements, shows and queue signage are in Italian first and the audience is families from Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna. It has about forty attractions across a wooded site, with a handful of serious roller coasters, a large indoor dark ride, a themed hotel and a separate aquarium under the same ticket umbrella. The season runs roughly Easter to early January rather than all year, closing through the depth of winter apart from the Christmas weeks. August is the peak of the peak, when queues for the headline rides run past an hour. Book online and dated, and check the season calendar before anything else.
