Beaches down the Gulf side of Boca Grande, anchored by the 1890 Port Boca Grande Lighthouse at the southern tip — a wooden keeper's dwelling on stilts that now holds a small museum. Boca Grande Pass beside it is one of the great tarpon fisheries in the world, and in late spring the pass fills with boats working a fish that can top 150 pounds.
