Generals Highway

The road that connects Sequoia and Kings Canyon, climbing from foothills at fifteen hundred feet to giant forest at seven thousand in a relentless series of switchbacks. It passes the General Sherman Tree — the largest living thing on earth by volume — and Moro Rock, a granite dome with four hundred steps cut into it.
