Genesee Country Village and Museum

Open Air Museum · Mumford, New York

Sixty-eight historic buildings moved from across western New York and reassembled into a working nineteenth-century village at Mumford, opened in 1976 — the largest living history museum in New York State and among the largest in the country. The buildings are genuine and were rescued rather than reproduced, and the village is staffed by interpreters running the trades, the farms and the households as they were between roughly 1795 and 1920.
