George Rogers Clark National Historical Park

National Monument · Vincennes, Indiana

A 26-acre park in Vincennes, Indiana commemorating one of the most important — and least known — battles of the American Revolution. In February 1779, Colonel George Rogers Clark and his small force of 170 men marched 180 miles through frozen flooded rivers to capture Fort Sackville from the British. The victory secured the Northwest Territory for the new United States. The park's centerpiece is a magnificent Greek Revival memorial completed in 1933.

401 South 2nd Street, Vincennes, Indiana, 47591, United States
