Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Lake Powell
National Recreation Area · Page, Arizona
Lake Powell, the reservoir behind Glen Canyon Dam at Page, fills a maze of flooded red-rock canyons stretching almost 190 miles into Utah, and is the centre of a national recreation area known across the country for houseboating. The dam, the Carl Hayden Visitor Center, the Wahweap and Antelope Point marinas, Horseshoe Bend and Lees Ferry are on the Arizona side; Rainbow Bridge is reached by boat in Utah. In 2026 the lake reached historically low levels: most launch ramps were closed, marina services moved, and access changes with the water — check the Park Service's current conditions before any boating trip.
Carl Hayden Visitor Center, US Highway 89, Page, Arizona, 86040, United States
Recreation area open year-round. Visitor centre, marina and ramp hours vary by season and water level — check nps.gov/glca.
