A Quiet Marina Town Ringed By Pine Hills With A Leafy Waterfront, Chic Restaurants, A Tuesday And Friday Market And Boat Trips To A Dozen Coves And Islands In The Gulf. A Sailing Base With A More Relaxed Feel Than Marmaris, Near Dalaman Airport · Fethiye, Mugla

Gocek is a small harbour town on the Gulf of Gocek in Mugla province, on the Turquoise Coast of south-west Turkiye, roughly 25 km west of Fethiye and about 20 km from Dalaman Airport (confirm). It sits at the end of a sheltered bay among pine-covered hills, with a long waterfront, three yacht marinas, restaurants and shops, and no large resort hotels. This makes it a calmer and tidier place than many of its neighbours, and it has long been a base for sailors, with gulets and private yachts moored along the quay. Around the gulf lie a dozen or so islands, coves and ruined harbours that can be reached by boat in a day, including bays with names such as Cleopatra Bath, Tersane and Sarsala (confirm). The town has a small beach, a Tuesday and Friday market (confirm), and a relaxed evening life. Summer is busy and hot, and the sea is warm from late spring to autumn. Winter is quieter and some restaurants close.

Gocek has no gate or closing time, and its waterfront, marinas and shops stay open all year, but the season matters: restaurants, boat offices and charter desks work longest from May to October, often until late at night, while many close or cut hours between November and March (confirm). The weekly market is held on Tuesday and Friday, usually from mid-morning to early afternoon (confirm). Day boats leave from the quay between about 09:30 and 10:30 and return in the late afternoon. Confirm the market day, boat schedule and quiet-season opening before planning a visit.
