Graceland Cemetery
Historic Site · Chicago, Illinois
A hundred and twenty acres on the North Side where most of the people who built Chicago are buried, and where a striking number of them commissioned the architects they had employed in life to design the monument. Louis Sullivan, Mies van der Rohe, Daniel Burnham and Marshall Field are all here, and so is George Pullman, buried under a layer of concrete and railway sleepers so nobody could dig him up.
4001 North Clark Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60613, United States
Open daily during daylight hours, generally 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Free, including parking. Gates close in the late afternoon.
