Grahams Island State Park

Subnational Park · Devils Lake, North Dakota

The last surviving state park on Devils Lake, on a wooded island that stopped being one when the water rose. Devils Lake has no natural outlet, and between 1993 and 2011 it more than tripled in area, drowning roads, farms and three of the four state park units that once ringed it. What is left is 959 acres of oak woodland and shoreline that is now the main access to a lake that is one of the best perch and walleye fisheries in North America.

152 South Duncan Road, Devils Lake, North Dakota, 58301, United States

Open year round with a per-vehicle North Dakota state park entry fee. The campground, cabins, marina and swimming beach are seasonal, generally from May to September, and reservable through the state park system; summer weekends and the winter ice fishing season both fill early. ⚠ WINTER IS A FULL SEASON HERE rather than a closure - the ice fishing on Devils Lake draws visitors from several states from roughly January to March, but ice conditions are not managed by the park and must be checked locally. Aquatic nuisance species rules are enforced on every boat entering and leaving.
