GRAMMY Museum Mississippi
Specialty Museum · Cleveland, Mississippi
The only companion to the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, opened in 2016 beside Delta State University in Cleveland, in the middle of the Delta. It was put here on the argument that Mississippi has produced more consequential American music per head than anywhere else — the blues, and through it rock and roll, and Elvis, and Muddy Waters, and B.B. King, and Charley Patton, and Jimmie Rodgers — and the permanent galleries make that case with a large amount of interactive kit: mixing desks, isolation booths, instruments you can play badly in public.
800 West Sunflower Road, Cleveland, Mississippi, 38732, United States
Generally open Tuesday to Saturday with Sunday afternoon opening, roughly 10 AM to 5 PM, closing at the start of the week and keeping a reduced winter schedule — verify before travelling. Closed on major holidays. The museum theatre programmes talks and live performances separately.
