Grass River Natural Area
Private Nature Preserve · Bellaire, Michigan
Eleven hundred acres of fen, cedar swamp and river between Lake Bellaire and Clam Lake, on the Chain of Lakes in Antrim County, crossed almost entirely on boardwalk. The wetland it protects is the kind of ground you normally cannot walk into at all, and the boardwalks are what make it visitable.
