Greenwater Lake Provincial Park

A Forest And Lake Park On The Porcupine Plateau With A Sandy Beach On Greenwater Lake, A Campground, A Golf Course, Trails And Wildlife Including Moose And Black Bears. A Summer Holiday Park In The Saskatchewan Parkland And Forest Edge · Greenwater, Saskatchewan

Greenwater Lake Provincial Park lies in the Porcupine Hills of north-east Saskatchewan, where the farm fields of the parkland give way to rolling boreal forest of aspen, white spruce and jack pine. The park was set aside in 1931 and is built around Greenwater Lake, a large, clear lake with a long sandy beach, a boat launch and a busy summer village at the south shore. Its campground, cabins, golf course and store make it a classic prairie holiday park, popular with families from Saskatoon, Regina and Manitoba (confirm distances). Trails wind through the forest and along the shore, moose and black bears live in the woods, and loons call from the bays at dusk. Fishing for walleye and northern pike draws anglers, and autumn colour and winter snowmobile trails bring a quieter season. The park is reached by Highway 38 from the Porcupine Plain area (confirm the route), and a vehicle entry permit is needed.

The park is open all year, but most services run from the Victoria Day weekend in May to the Labour Day weekend in September. The campground office, beach facilities, golf course, store and boat launch keep seasonal hours and may close early in spring and after the September long weekend, so confirm times before you drive. Trails are open at all hours, but the park roads are not always ploughed in winter, and snowmobile or ski routes depend on the weather. Call the park office for campground dates, fees and any fire bans.
