Guliakhali Beach
Beach · Sitakunda, Chattogram
The strangest and most photogenic beach on the Chattogram coast: at Muradpur near Sitakunda, a carpet of green grass mounds runs down to the sea, cut by winding tidal channels that fill and empty with the Bay - a miniature estuary landscape locals liken to a pocket Sundarbans, backed by a casuarina belt. There is no development to speak of: a rough approach, boats or a walk across the flats at low water, seasonal snack shacks and nothing else. Guliakhali is a low-tide, golden-hour, bring-everything destination - and the emptiness is the attraction.
Muradpur Ghat Road, Sitakunda, Chattogram, Bangladesh
Open shoreline with no gates, tickets or services - the practical hours are set entirely by the tide: low water exposes the grass-and-channel landscape (the visit), high water drowns it (no visit). Golden hour at low tide is the formula; weekday winter visits can be nearly private. Carry in everything, carry out everything.
