A Japanese hill-and-pond garden laid out above Saratoga in 1915 by Isabel Stine after a visit to the Fuji-Hakone region, and the oldest Japanese-style residential garden in the western hemisphere. The upper house was built by a Japanese imperial carpenter without nails, and the whole eighteen acres are terraced into a redwood hillside.
