A retreat centre in the hills above Middletown, clothing-optional since the 1970s and the place Watsu — shiatsu performed in warm water — was invented in 1980. The 2015 Valley Fire destroyed almost the entire property; it rebuilt and reopened in 2019, which is why what stands there now is newer than its reputation suggests.
