High Roller
Observation Wheel At The LINQ Promenade, About 550 Feet Tall; The Tallest Observation Wheel In The World When It Opened In 2014 · Las Vegas, Nevada
High Roller is the giant observation wheel at the end of The LINQ Promenade, just off the centre of the Las Vegas Strip behind The LINQ Hotel and across the Strip from Caesars Palace. About 550 feet tall, it was the tallest observation wheel in the world when it opened in 2014, a record it held until larger wheels were built abroad, and it remains one of the largest in the Americas. Instead of open gondolas it carries large glass cabins, each able to hold up to about 40 people, which turn so slowly that the wheel seems still; one rotation takes about 30 minutes and lifts riders high above the Strip resorts, with views over Caesars, Bellagio, Paris, the Venetian, Sphere and out to the mountains. Special cabins include an adults-only open-bar ride. At night the wheel is lit by colour changing LEDs that are part of the Strip skyline. It is a gentle, easy ride suited to every age rather than a thrill, and the Promenade below, with its bars, restaurants, a zipline and the free flamingo habitat nearby, makes it a simple evening out.

NO OPENING TIME HERE WAS CHECKED. The typical pattern: High Roller runs daily from around midday until around midnight, with the last boarding before closing, though opening hours have varied by season and day; the Happy Half Hour cabin runs at set times of day; the Promenade's bars and restaurants keep their own hours, some until late. The traps that ruin a day are arriving at sunset on a weekend and waiting an hour, boarding after dark and missing the mountains, forgetting ID for the open-bar cabin, skipping the restrooms before a 30-minute ride and coming on a very windy day when the wheel is paused. Confirm current times before relying on them.
