Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area
The Largest Arkansas State Park At Over 12,000 Acres, On The Shore Of Beaver Lake In The Ozarks. Managed Jointly For Conservation, Recreation And Regulated Hunting, Which Is Unusual For A State Park. · Rogers, Arkansas
Hobbs is the biggest state park in Arkansas at over twelve thousand acres, wrapped along the southern shore of Beaver Lake in the Ozarks twenty minutes from Rogers. It is a conservation area as much as a park, which is why regulated hunting happens inside it in season - something almost no other Arkansas state park allows - and why the trail network is shared between walkers, cyclists and horses. The visitor centre is a good one, with a wall of glass onto the woods. The best walk is the trail down Van Winkle Hollow to the remains of a nineteenth-century sawmill and homestead that supplied timber to half of north-west Arkansas before the lake existed.
20201 East Highway 12, Rogers, Arkansas, 72756, United States
The park is open daily during daylight hours and Arkansas state parks charge no entrance fee. The visitor centre keeps daytime hours with reduced winter hours. REGULATED HUNTING takes place within the conservation area in season, and some trails and zones close or require blaze orange during those periods - check the current dates at the visitor centre before walking. Camping is limited and seasonal.
