Historic House · Hyde Park, New York
Springwood, the Hyde Park house where Franklin Roosevelt was born in 1882, lived his whole life and is buried in the rose garden with Eleanor. He gave it to the American people in 1943 while still president, and beside it built the FIRST PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY — an institution he invented, designed himself, and which every president since has been obliged to copy.
4097 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, New York, 12538, United States
Grounds, rose garden and gravesite are FREE and open daily. The house is GUIDED-TOUR-ONLY on a timed, capped schedule and the presidential library and museum keep their own hours; both are generally open daily with reduced winter operation and closures on major holidays. The combined ticket is reported valid for two consecutive days. ⚠ HOURS, FEES AND TOUR TIMES WERE NOT VERIFIED FOR THIS FILE — confirm on nps.gov/hofr.
