Hoyt Arboretum
Arboretum · Portland, Oregon
A 153-acre public arboretum on a ridge in the Tualatin Mountains, two miles west of downtown Portland and part of the Washington Park complex. It holds twelve miles of hiking trails and two miles of paved accessible trail, and it is free to the public all year. Around 350,000 people visit annually, which is a fraction of what the rose garden down the hill takes - and it is the quieter, better walk of the two.
Southwest Fairview Boulevard, Portland, Oregon, 97221, United States
The grounds are open daily during daylight hours and are FREE. The visitor centre keeps its own and shorter hours and is closed on some days - check before relying on it for maps or restrooms. ⚠ PARKING IN WASHINGTON PARK IS PAID AND ENFORCED even though the arboretum itself charges nothing.
