Hugh Taylor Birch State Park

Florida State Park · Fort Lauderdale, Florida

180 acres of tropical hammock and lagoon wedged between the Intracoastal Waterway and Fort Lauderdale beach, kept intact because one man bought the land in 1893 and refused to sell it to developers. It is a strip of what this entire coast looked like before the high-rises, sitting directly across A1A from one of the busiest beaches in Florida.

3109 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 33304, United States

Open 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. The loop road is closed to vehicles on certain days for walkers and cyclists.
