Indiana Beach
Amusement Park · Monticello, Indiana
An amusement park built along the shore of Lake Shafer at Monticello, opened in 1926 and laid out on a narrow strip between the water and the bluff, which gives it a cramped boardwalk character unlike any other park in the state. Wooden and steel coasters run out over the lake on trestles, there is a water park attached, and boats and a sky ride cross the water. It closed abruptly in 2020 and was bought and reopened, which is why some older material describes it as shut.
