INFINITY Science Center

Science Museum · Pearlington, Mississippi

The public visitor centre for NASA's Stennis Space Center, just off Interstate 10 near the Louisiana line. Stennis is where American rocket engines are tested — the Saturn V second stages, every Space Shuttle main engine, and now the engines for the Space Launch System — and the site is surrounded by a buffer zone of a hundred and twenty-five thousand acres because of how loud that is. A Saturn V first stage lies outside the building. Bus tours run into the test complex itself, which is the part worth planning around.

One Discovery Circle, Pearlington, Mississippi, 39572, United States

Generally open Wednesday to Sunday, roughly 9 AM to 4 PM, with a reduced week in winter and closure on major holidays — verify before travelling. Modest admission. THE BUS TOUR INTO STENNIS SPACE CENTER runs on a limited schedule with finite seats, requires government-issued photo identification for every adult, carries additional advance requirements for foreign nationals, and can be cancelled at short notice for operational or security reasons. Book it before you travel.
