Inner Space Cavern
Show Cave · Georgetown, Texas
A cave found by a Texas Highway Department core drill in 1963 while they were testing ground for Interstate 35, which is why the entrance sits on the motorway frontage road in Georgetown. Ice-age animals fell into it and could not get out, and their bones — mammoth, sabre-toothed cat, giant ground sloth — came out of the mud when the cave was opened.
