Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

Zoo · Jacksonville, Florida

Florida's oldest zoo, opened in 1914 with a single red deer fawn, now a hundred and thirty acres on the Trout River with a botanical garden threaded through it — the gardens are not an afterthought but a parallel collection, and the two are designed to be walked together. Range of the Jaguar and Land of the Tiger are among the better big-cat habitats in the country.
