Jamestown Settlement
Open Air Museum · Williamsburg, Virginia
The state-run living-history museum a mile and a half from the real fort site: full-scale re-creations of the three ships that carried the first colonists in 1607, a rebuilt James Fort and a Powhatan town, worked by costumed interpreters, with large indoor galleries behind them. It is not Historic Jamestowne — that is the actual archaeological site down the road — and visitors book the wrong one constantly.
2110 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, Virginia, 23185, United States
